Zoë & Zita
Zoë & Zita is a dress boutique in Heist-op-den-Berg with a team of four helping women shine on their special moments. From gala dresses and bridesmaid dresses to casual-chic day dresses and jumpsuits — across two addresses in the same street, each with its own atmosphere and offering. With 18 fitting rooms, no appointment needed, and an in-house seamstress, Zoë & Zita has everything for women looking for the perfect dress.

From a blank page to a complete digital platform
Zoë & Zita launched in 2018 with no online presence at all. No website, no webshop. The plan was to get it right from day one: one integrated platform that supports the shop online and can grow independently.
What makes this project different: I'm a co-owner of Zoë & Zita. I didn't build this platform for a client across the table, I built it for my own business. Every decision I made from two angles at once: as a developer and as a business owner with skin in the game.
That changes the focus. You don't just build what's asked. You build what the business actually needs long-term.
More than a website — a complete digital ecosystem
A simple info site was never the plan. Zoë & Zita has two physical locations, a POS system in the shop, and customers who shop both online and in-store. Those two worlds needed to fit seamlessly together.
We built a complete platform with four parts:
Everything works as one. What's entered at the till appears immediately in the webshop. And vice versa. No double entry, no stock errors, no confused customers trying to order something that's already sold out.
Technical core
WordPress + WooCommerce + Flatsome — connected to a POS system and MultiSafepay payment terminal. Till, webshop, and online payment run as one platform.
A webshop that puts the dress first
You sell dresses through feeling, not technical specs. The focus was on a clear structure and visual presentation that lets the collection speak for itself — easy to browse for customers, easy to manage for the team.
Both locations got a clear place within the website without losing overall coherence. Customers understand each address immediately:
The webshop is fully built in WooCommerce: product management, categories, wishlist functionality, and smooth checkout via MultiSafepay. Customers can browse, save, and order online — or just get inspiration before their next visit to the shop.
Till and webshop as one system
The most technically complex challenge was connecting the POS system to the webshop. In a clothing shop, stock changes constantly. One sale in the shop means one less dress in the webshop — and that has to be right in real time.
Thanks to the POS integration, it happens automatically. Staff work from one system. What the till registers, the webshop adjusts immediately. No disappointed customers and no unnecessary admin.
The payment terminal in the shop, connected via MultiSafepay, runs on the same platform. So both online and in-person payments go through one integrated environment, with a complete transaction overview in one place.
Stock changes in the shop automatically update the webshop. No manual syncing, no outdated inventory online.
Custom ERP: everything that runs behind the scenes
A fashion shop needs more than a till and a webshop. Daily processes don't fit into any standard system: customers bringing in dresses for alterations, orders for items temporarily out of stock, clothes going to the dry cleaner, purchase orders with suppliers.
We built a custom ERP module for this. Fully integrated into the existing environment, so the team manages and tracks everything from one place.
The module covers four areas:
The result is an operational platform that supports the full workings of Zoë & Zita, from customer at the till to supplier on the other side of the world.
Built to fit
The ERP module doesn't exist off the shelf. Each part was developed based on Zoë & Zita's specific workflows, and can be extended as the business grows.
As co-owner and developer at the controls
This project had a different dynamic than a regular client assignment. I share the risk of Zoë & Zita. That means making choices that have to hold up long-term — technically, commercially, and operationally.
I could decide faster, but had to think broader. Not just "what works today" but "what scales as the business grows". Not just "what does the client want" but "what does the business actually need".
For me, this project shows what's possible when you sit at the table as developer and business owner at the same time. A platform I fully stand behind — as builder and as co-operator.
"This project had a different dynamic than a regular client assignment. I share the risk of Zoë & Zita."
Ready to grow
Zoë & Zita is growing. The collection is expanding, there's an in-house seamstress for alterations on any dress, and the first steps toward a stronger online presence are in place.
The technical foundation is built to scale. Extra product categories, extended stock management, online fitting sessions, a loyalty programme — everything can be added step by step, without rebuilding the foundation.
A digital base that grows with the business. That was the goal from day one, and that's what's in place.
